It's also not a hardware problem since on windows 17 the driver installs but freezes afterwards, and also there are many users who have the same problem. The laptop display works fine. I can't use my gtx 950m gpu without the intel graphics driver and it's so frustrating. I wasted a lot of time trying to fix this, it's time to do something since I'm not the only one experiencing this problems. All the other windows versions just black screen during the installation. Windows 17 install the driver with no black screen but after 10-15 seconds windows freezes. Also tried all versions of windows 10 from 1607 to 1909, all have a problem with the graphic driver. I tried all the drivers from asus or intel but none worked. Be right back to update the result.I have an asus laptop x550jx, i5 4200h cpu, gtx 950m.The problem is that when the intel graphics driver is installing it displays a black screen with no hdd activity, basically it freezes. I'm going to update my BIOS and try to UPGRADE my laptop to Windows 10 (currently in Windows 8.1, restored using system image backup ALWAYS do this before doing a major update!). Just now, I have checked the Asus website for BIOS update for X450JF and found that there is new BIOS update posted in support page. At this point I believe that the problem lies in either Intel's driver or the laptop BIOS. Screen color going weird after installing Intel HD Graphics driver (the screen is normal when using generic driver). Still weird after it's finished and updated the Windows via Windows Update.ģ. Clean install via Recovery -> Reset PC, screen color going weird in the middle of the process. Continues being weird after the upgrade is done and after updating the Windows 10 via Windows Update.Ģ. Upgrade my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, screen color already going weird in the middle of installation. I believe that this is indeed a driver problem.ġ.
